"Black Hills Balloons is one of the longest-running hot air balloon ride operators in the country. Founded in Custer in 1984, its current owners, Keely and Damien Mahony, are celebrating 10 years owning and operating the most colorful business in the Black Hills. Black Hills Balloons provides sunrise hot air balloon rides daily, May through October for tourists and locals - flying up to 20 passengers daily. Reservations are required.
Also, an FAA-certified hot air balloon repair station; the business provides annual aircraft inspections and repairs to dozens of hot air balloons located in South Dakota and surrounding states. Located right on Main Street, at the corner of Mt Rushmore Rd and 8th, operating hours tend to be during the early morning hours pre- and post-flight. If you see us out front, feel free to wave, beep, or pop in for a quick tour of the hangar."
