Custer Veterans Memorial Park
The Custer Area Veterans' Memorial stands as a lasting tribute to the brave men and women who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States. Created by the Custer Area Veterans' Memorial Association, the memorial honors all veterans, regardless of where they call home, and provides family members, friends, and supporters with a place to recognize and remember their service.
The memorial is located just south of the intersection of 5th Street and Washington Street in Custer, South Dakota. It proudly features the American Flag, South Dakota State Flag, and POW/MIA Flag, surrounded by beautifully designed memorial grounds that include veterans' engraved bricks honoring those who served.
Each commemorative brick is personalized with a veteran's name, rank, military branch, and dates of service or the conflict or war in which they served, creating a permanent legacy for future generations.
The memorial continues to grow through the support of our community. Veterans' commemorative bricks may be purchased for $50, or $60 if you would like to include military clip art or an approved emblem on the brick. Bricks can be ordered online at www.polarengraving.com/CusterVeteransMemorial or by contacting a member of the Custer Area Veterans' Memorial Association. Order forms are also available at the memorial and at the Custer Area Chamber of Commerce office, located at 615 Washington Street, Custer, SD.
