Leather peonies and Plantable Seed Cards Workshop
Custer State Park State Game Lodge
Celebrate Mother’s Day surrounded by the beauty of the Black Hills at this hands-on workshop on the State Game Lodge Patio. Led by a Custer State Park Naturalist, this beginner-friendly experience will guide you through creating a stunning leather peony and a plantable seed paper card—perfect for a heartfelt, handmade gift. Using a prepared kit from Tandy Leather (with petals pre-cut and holes pre-punched), participants will learn foundational leatherworking skills, including lacing, braiding, knot-tying, assembly, and leather shaping in a relaxed, scenic setting.
All materials are provided, and guests can enjoy a light refreshment spread featuring fruit, coffee, and lemonade while they craft. A cash bar is also available inside the State Game Lodge restaurant. Whether you come solo or bring someone special, this workshop offers a creative and memorable way to connect with nature and celebrate the season.
Age 7+ recommended; participants will work independently.
