Discover the beauty of Custer State Park during Open House Weekend, May 15–17. During this special weekend, park entrance fees are waived, making it the perfect time to explore the park’s scenic drives, hiking trails, lakes, and incredible wildlife.
It’s also Free Fishing Weekend across South Dakota, so anglers can fish without a license (all regulations and limits still apply). Whether you’re casting a line, spotting bison along the Wildlife Loop, or simply enjoying the fresh spring air in the Black Hills, it’s a great time to experience the park.
Park staff will be offering special programs and activities throughout the weekend, helping kick off the summer season and welcoming visitors to one of South Dakota’s most iconic outdoor destinations. Camping fees still apply. Stay for the Weekend
